Helping you learn how to garden, one mistake at a time... to help others garden the way I do - with a million questions, a million trial-and-errors, and every once in a while - by enjoying an unexpected flower that pops up in the wrong place. We'll also keep track of the latest 'green' trends for the garden, tricks of the trade, and ways to save money via gardening (or not).
Why 'The Accidental Daisy'?
So why is this site called 'The Accidental Daisy'?
Like the tag-line says, because a flower is just a weed in the right place. That's what my mom used to always say. OK, she ACTUALLY used to say that a weed is just a flower in the wrong place - but I always looked at it the other way around. Either way works I suppose.
The point is that when it comes to gardening (and even to life in general)... grow where you're planted and look for beauty in the unexpected. What some people see as a weed in one spot is actually a flower in another - it's all just a matter of perspective! One man's trash is another man's treasure, and... yada yada yada.
But enough of the philosophical crap, no?... because another thing you should keep in mind when you take up gardening is that sometimes a weed is just a damn WEED - and you need to yank that little bugger out!
So with all that inner peace and goodness in mind, let's get started. It's time to roll up the sleeves and start some gardening! We'll talk about the fine and not so glamorous points of gardening (don't forget to take a pee on your hydrangeas!), how to conserve water and compost, and follow green trends for your garden and yard.
I'll try to keep you informed and up to date on the coolest and greatest developments, share some knowledge on my own gardening experiences, and ask you for some help along the way. I may offend you off every once in a while (I tend to be blunt and not think before I type) - but hopefully sometimes I may make you laugh and smile a little. I have no problem letting others relish in my gardening misfortunes!
Enjoy and DIG IN!!!
